On a total whim, I decided to write a quick post here. It’s not a total whim. First, it bothers me that I pay for this site and it’s not active, and second, I’m procrastinating a bit from byway writing which is taking up a lot of my time over at HeidiTown.
So, you’re going to find out what I’m currently obsessed with on television, and yes, it’s a food show.
“In The Test Kitchen” is a show on Netflix. The Test Kitchen has been around for years, apparently, but I’ve never watched one episode. Now they have this spinoff and I kind of love it.
They are bite size shows (only 30-minutes) about one type of food. For instance, last night we watched an episode of “In the Test Kitchen” about rice. Ryan watches it with me because he doesn’t have a choice. Also, I take notes, so his dinners are going to be extra good when I get around to cooking the things I have saved.
Rice may sound boring, but it’s far from boring. It’s a major staple in so many cultures. This means that rice is one of those foods that makes us all have a little something in common. It brings us together instead of tearing us apart like the news or politics or Donald Trump (don’t @ me because you know it’s true).
Three different rice dishes were brought out, and the four hosts talked and tasted each one, and then got to vote on their favorite. They have also done sandwiches, burgers, meatballs and lots of other things we still need to watch. I am overly excited about the steak episode which ran on July 2. We haven’t watched it yet.
There you have it. I am loving this show, although I really think there should be an episode on tacos. I’d like to be a taste tester on that show. You’d watch, right?
You can get show information at this link, plus recipes for every dish they taste, something I didn’t know until today. I am happy about although in my world a recipe is just a suggestion.
I would like to get back to writing regularly here, even if they are tiny snippets. There are several taco joints I’d like to get listed here, and there’s a new ramen place down the street that I need to try (and write about). We shall see! Honestly, there are like 12 other things I should be doing right now. For real.
Lastly, my SEO on this stink according to my Yoast SEO thingamajig. I mean, it’s giving me a very low, sad-looking score. So, there’s that.
